In line with the vision of the Nursing Services Department at the Ministry of Health, which aspires to leadership and excellence in the performance of nursing staff, the department organized a training course titled "Training for Training Officials," in collaboration with the University of Toronto, Canada.
The course was conducted by visiting instructor Samar Sami from Canada and lasted for five days at the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specializations (KIMS), with the participation of 26 training officials from various hospitals.
The goal of this course is to enhance the educational skills of nursing staff in the Training and Development Units (SDU), training them to analyze the practical needs of nurses, and empowering them to choose suitable activities and educational methods to train the largest number of nurses possible. The program also aims to expand the circle of beneficiaries from this training course, contributing to improving the quality of nursing services provided.
The training course was inaugurated by Dr. Iman Al-Awadi, Director of the Nursing Services Department, who welcomed the attendees and participants, and discussed the vision and mission of the department, along with future training programs and plans, emphasizing the department's commitment to continuously hold training courses to advance the nursing sector, positively reflecting on the quality of health services provided.
Dr. Al-Awadi confirmed that this initiative comes in light of the Nursing Services Department's preparations, supported by the Ministry of Health, to develop and supervise the training programs offered. This project aims to prepare and conduct specialized training programs to train as many nursing staff as possible in various specialized fields, to develop clinical and technical skills, enhance health communication skills, and improve management and leadership capabilities, as well as engage in clinical research. The trained teams that attended the training programs will also train new teams at their workplaces, thereby enhancing the capabilities of nursing staff and ensuring the continuous improvement of healthcare quality in the country.
